A Great Pyrenees Rescue & Sanctuary

The Problem: A Breed Misunderstood
Great Pyrenees are "gentle giants" with a biological mandate: to guard, to roam, and to protect. Unfortunately, these centuries-old instincts often clash with modern life. In suburban neighborhoods, a Pyr’s natural protective barking and 100-pound presence are frequently labeled as "nuisances" or "aggression," leading to high rates of abandonment. Because they are independent thinkers—not eager-to-please house pets—they are often the first to be deemed "unadoptable" in traditional, high-stress shelters.

The Solution: A Purpose-Built Sanctuary
We are building a farm-based sanctuary that meets a Pyr where they are. Unlike a standard kennel, our facility provides:

  • The Space to Roam: Securely fenced acreage and barns where dogs can fulfill their instinctual need to patrol without conflict.

  • Breed-Specific Expertise: A team that understands Pyrenean behavior—from their nocturnal nature to their legendary "Pyr paw"—ensuring they receive the patient, specialized care they deserve.

  • A "Safe Landing" for Life: For those who cannot be rehomed due to age or medical needs, we provide a permanent, peaceful retirement where they can "work" the land they love.

How You Can Help
Your contribution directly funds the infrastructure that makes this possible. We are currently raising start-up funding for Haven.

The Vision.

A self-sustaining Great Pyrenees Sanctuary. These brave and beautiful guardians live their purpose by guarding farm animals. The farm animals produce eggs, cheese, milk, wool and such to sell, which raises funds to continue supporting the sanctuary.
